ONE DAY WORKSHOPS

PFD will be offering 1 day workshops for the following learning skills.

EFFECTIVE AGENDA USE

AGENDA: Visualize your student eliminating missing assignments.  Students will be taught how to control their schedule instead of their schedule controlling them.  They will learn techniques on how to properly and effectively use an agenda to plan their day, week, and month by inputting not only when to "do" an assignment, but when it is actually "due"LATER MEANS NEVER!

NOTE-TAKING

NOTE-TAKING: Imagine your student taking notes every day in every class.  Students will learn 10 critical steps on becoming an excellent note-taker.  They will learn how to set up, prepare and take fast, effective notes for every subject.  Students will be shown what to write, how to write it, and what to listen and watch for during note-taking.  Upon completion, participants will understand how note-taking is a form of studying.  It will better prepare them for upcoming quizzes and exams.  Most importantly, note-taking eliminates distractions and increases focus during class.

IN-DEPTH TEST-TAKING

IN-DEPTH TEST TAKING: Is your student a poor test taker?  Each student will be shown how to take tests and not let tests take them.  Techniques will be shown how to prepare and take multiple choice, true-false, matching items, and problem solving tests.  They will be shown preparation techniques before each and every test.  Each student will know exactly what questions to ask before each and every test as well as be shown how to analyze their corrected test to prepare for the next one.

STUDY SKILLS & HABITS

STUDY SKILLS & HABITS: Students are shown when, where and how to study on a regular basis.  Students are then able to recognize their bad habits and replace them with good study habits.  Students are shown the difference between homework (completing an assignment) and studying (learning their assignment for the test).
