FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


1.      How many days a week is the program?
The program is held once a week, except for Christmas and Spring Breaks.

2.      Can a student switch classes if there is a scheduling conflict?
Yes, as long as they notify the instructor ahead of time.

3.      How long are the classes?
Classes are 2 hours long once a week.

4.      How long can you stay in PFD?
Until you graduate from High School.  You remain apart of PFD for life once you graduate.

5.      What kind of parents and students is PFD looking for?
Students committed to education and who realize they have much to learn if they want to graduate from college.  Parents who are willing to have their student held accountable for their actions so the student develops a sense of responsibility towards education.

6.      How long is the program each year?
PFD runs from September-June. 

7.      How is PFD different from other after-school programs?
PFD focuses on the student as a whole, not just academics.  We prepare our students for life--emotionally, socially, morally, and financially.     PFD demands self-accountability, and educational and personal responsibility from each student.

8.      Is there homework on a nightly basis?
There is no homework in PFD.  Weekly Goals are completed on Saturday or Sunday at home.  These take from 20 minutes to 1 hour to complete. Occasionally, weekend assignments are given such as college and scholarship research.

9.      Are there refunds given if the students quits or drops out?
There are absolutely no refunds given under any and all circumstances.  At the time of registration a no refund policy must be signed by parent(s).  The registration fee is non-refundable and the monthly tuition is non-refundable once services have been rendered.

10.  What happens if the monthly tuition is late or is not paid?
There is a $25 per week charge for late tuition.  If tuition is not paid in full by the next month, the student will be dismissed from the program.  Their spot will be given to someone on the waiting list.  The student will not be eligible to return to the program until the following year.  Then tuition will have to be paid in advance.

11.  What is PFD’s college acceptance rate?
100%.  Every student that has been in PFD two or more years and successfully completed the program has been accepted into a 4-year university.
